September 16,Zhengzhou—ChinaAMC and the FAIRR Initiative co-hosted an investor delegation visit to Muyuan Foods at the company's headquarters in Zhengzhou. The delegation included representatives from the China Climate Engagement Initiative (CCEI), alongside domestic and international asset managers, marking the third consecutive year of ChinaAMC's ongoing engagement with Muyuan.
The delegation toured Muyuan's pig breeding centre and R&D centre, gaining first-hand insights into the company's advancements in breeding technology. The visit was followed by a strategic discussion with Muyuan's senior management team, including CEO Mr. Gao Tong and Chief Legal Officer Mr. Yuan Hebin. The session was co-moderated by Ms. Shirley Xu, Head of ESG Research at ChinaAMC, and Mr. Changtong Huang, Senior Manager at the FAIRR Initiative.
Ahead of the visit, ChinaAMC conducted a systematic review of Muyuan's latest disclosures, focusing on its progress between 2024 and 2026 regarding greenhouse gas emissions reporting, emissions-reduction plans, climate governance, and nature-related risk disclosures. Building on this assessment, investors engaged in a deep dialogue with the company concerning Scope 3 emissions, climate resilience, methane reduction, water management and sustainable soybean sourcing.
ChinaAMC acknowledged Muyuan's progress across multiple fronts and sees further potential for the company to reduce emissions while enhancing resource efficiency and driving economic value. Furthermore, Muyuan is well-positioned to play a more active role in advancing deforestation-free feed sourcing and raising sustainability standards across the broader livestock industry.
